It applies where your quote says it applies and you take the approach we recommend. It does not cover refusals on non-acoustic grounds, information supplied to us that turns out to be inaccurate, or a design, scheme or plant selection that changes after the assessment. What do you need from me to quote?
A postcode and a sentence about the scheme. If you have the council's wording, a site plan or a validation checklist, send those too and the quote will be tighter, but they are not required to get a number back.
How much does a noise assessment cost?
Most planning noise surveys, survey and report together, land between £1,450 and £2,500 +VAT. Desk-based work comes in under that; complex multi-source schemes above it. Every job is a fixed fee agreed up front, which is why we quote rather than publish a price list.
What is the difference between a survey and an assessment?
A survey measures what the site sounds like. An assessment interprets those measurements against the standards your council applies and draws a conclusion. Planning conditions almost always want the assessment. The survey data feeds it either way, so you never pay to measure twice.
How quickly can you turn it around?
Quotes come back the same working day. The report lands within five working days of the survey, and most jobs run from instruction to final report inside two weeks. If you are against a validation deadline, say so when you send the details.
Do you cover my area?
Yes. We are based in Ancoats, Manchester, and work across England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland. Most surveys use unattended monitoring, so distance affects our costs rather than your programme, and the fee is fixed either way.
What happens if the council objects to the report?
We revise it at no additional cost until the objection is resolved, and if it genuinely cannot be resolved by revision we refund the fee for that work. The clause in full is in our terms.
