We are converting a building near a music venue. What do we need?
An assessment of the venue's actual noise, including its low-frequency content, and a design that protects the scheme from it. Under agent of change the responsibility sits with the incoming development, so the glazing, ventilation and layout have to be designed around the venue rather than in spite of it.
Do you work in Bath as well?
Yes. Bath's World Heritage status restricts external alterations heavily, so the acoustic answer usually has to be internal: secondary glazing, ventilation strategy and layout rather than replacement facades.
